Initially it was called 80’s Sticks, but I couldn’t Google satisfactory photo reference of Styx from the 80’s. There were tons of pics from the 70’s, so I just switched it.
There are a generation or two that won’t think this strip is remotely funny. I’ve known young-uns who’ve never even heard of Van Halen. But for those of you around my age who listened to radio stations that played actual music…
… you might appreciate the flashback.
Oh mama I’m in fear of this nest and the long wing of Newton’s law.
My take: “Oh mama kicked me out of her nest, I’ll sue her in a court of law…”
’70s Styx was the right choice. I especially your Tommy Shaw.
Thanks! And it makes me wonder if anyone has ever cartooned them before.
Sometimes I feel,
Like a bird in a wilted nest,
I’m a lonely buzzard who can’t caw
Sent away to fly,
Never quite knowing why,
Seems like it aint no fair at aaaa-aaaah-a-a-a-ll.
(aint no fair at all)
Nice… You clearly know your Styx to whip up that one.
What’s the problem? Surly Mr. Roboto would a lot of help.
Oh, and I heard Come Sail Away in the restaurant at lunch today. Weird timing.
Mr. Roboto came out in 83, so there must have been some Styx in the 80s. 🙂
“Paradise Theater” and “Kilroy was here” came out in the 80s. Then “Edge Of The Century” came out in (I think ) 1990
“He’ll build – a modern – nest….”
Heh, where did he got the time machine?
You’re the only person who’s brought that up… Lol
So; they showed him the way?
…I’ll grab my coat…
“Livin’ on the edge-on the edge- on the edge- on the edge of a tree branch!…”
